In addition to the announcement of this milestone, Roblox also announced at RDC that developers are now set to earn a total of $250 million, an increase from the $110 million paid in 2019. Developers are earning money based on the number of in-game products sold, as well as pledge numbers. Game Developers, per Roblox, earned $2 million in June alone thanks to the platform's new Premium payment system, which pays developers based on how long Premium subscribers engage in the game.
“The achievements of our developer community have eclipsed even our highest expectations; I am incredibly impressed with the unique and creative experiences being introduced on the Roblox platform,” said David Baszucki, Founder and CEO of Roblox. Baszucki added that Roblox is committed to giving developers the tools to push their vision forward. New tools for developers include new machine translations for all supported languages, as well as a new partnership with music label Monstercat.
Several development milestones were also announced on the ground floor. From now on. Puzzle game Pig, which launched in January, has had nearly five billion views since its launch on Roblox. Additionally, Adopt Me!, which launched in 2017, now has over 10 billion plays on the Roblox platform.
