Fishing is a new mechanic that is introduced with the arrival of version 2.1 of Genshin impact. It then allows you to relax while catching fish, but more importantly, it gives access to exclusive rewards such as the 4-star weapon "The Prize", which is an excellent choice for Shogun Raiden or even Xiangling. How do I access fishing?

As soon as the 2.1 update arrives, you will have access to a special quest by going to see Catherine in Mondstadt. She will ask you to go talk to Nantuck who needs your help.

The latter will teach you the basics of fishing through two tests. This mechanic is not very complicated. You must first find a pool that sparkles to be able to fish (you will find the list of pools below). You must then choose a bait and throw it into the basin while making sure to do not throw it too close to the fish so as not to scare them.

Passing by the bait, the fish will become interested in it. If the fish continue on their way, the bait was the wrong one.. If they insist, you'll see them repeatedly go inside, forming bubbles, until they cling.

A gauge will then appear, and the goal will be to stay inside the small segment indicated to hook the fish.

All fishing merchants

Merchants will give you access to various rewards in exchange for a certain number of fish. They can also give you fishing rods, but be careful, the effect of these fishing rods is limited to the region of these merchants (Liyue's fishing rod will only be really effective in this region for example).

Marchand de Mondstadt

• Location : On leaving town, turn left to see the merchant fishing in the lake. He will then sell you the recipes for the baits which are essential to progress.

• Location : At the very end of Liyue port. This merchant will give you access to objects for your Serenitheater, in order to place the fish obtained in a basin.

• Location : Just before entering the city of Inazuma, on a small beach. It is she who gives access to “La Prize” and its refined materials.

Some useful details: some fish only appear at specific times, either day or night. When you arrive in front of a pond to fish, remember to fish during the day, then at night from 18 p.m. to 6 a.m. (in game) in order to see all the fish available in the pond. Equally, think that fish usually take 2 days to reappear.
