Borderlands 3 offers like its predecessor the possibility of splitting its screen into 2 or 4 in order to be able to play with your friends on a single screen. Find below the procedure to follow to be able to play in split screen.
How to play in Split screen on Borderlands 3?
To be able to achieve this, nothing could be simpler, start a game then choose a difficulty level. Once you have selected your difficulty, you can choose to play competitively or cooperatively.
If you play competitively, you will not benefit from experience sharing and you will therefore be competing with your friend(s). However, you can help your teammate to increase his level, but it will be much slower than in classic cooperative.
Once you have chosen the difficulty level and the game mode, you will have a brief cutscene that will start and once this is finished, you will be able to select your character between the four Borderlands 3 Vault Hunters.
If you have two or more controllers connected to your console, your teammate will also be able to choose a character and you will therefore play in split screen.
Be careful though, this option is therefore only accessible to console players (Playstation 4 and Xbox One), PC players will not be able to play with a split screen.
However, it should be noted that at present this screen sharing encounters many problems such as: screen freezes, framerate drops, crashes during your games, etc.
Gearbox continues to work actively patch after patch to try to fix these issues but you will be notified if you ever encounter any problems while playing in split screen.
