Genshin impact is full of diverse and varied menus, and therefore, it is not necessarily easy to navigate at the start of the game, especially when a few tutorials are missing. One of the most important points to properly increase the strength of your characters is the artifact system, a bit obscure and messy at first sight. Where to find artifacts?
You will have noticed that there are five types of artifacts, which means that you can equip each character with five objects. If you plan to do this for several characters, the number of artifacts needed increases very quickly.
Luckily, artifacts can be found all over the world, and especially in chests. You can be sure to find white, green, or purple artifacts in more or less any chest. Even if they are often low level, keep them carefully, they will serve you for the future.
How to increase an artifact?
Artifacts can also be leveled up, like characters and weapons. To do this, go to the artifact in question and press To reinforce (Triangle button on PS4), and sacrifice other artifacts to level this one up. He will then gain better stats, but also additional abilities.
We can only advise you not to sacrifice your artifacts to increase the level of white, green or blue objects. Instead, save them for purple or higher artifacts, which are much more powerful and more viable in the long run.
How to optimize artifacts?
The real strength of artifacts is to allow the build creation for your character. Thus, your Traveler can for example be very focused on the attack, or conversely, be a solid tank with a very high defense and HP. For this, it is necessary to choose the artefacts to be attributed.
In addition to the characteristic bonuses that you can quickly see on each artifact, you will notice that each of them belongs to a “family” of artifacts, such as "Berserker", "Roaming Doctor", "Adventurer", and many others.
By equipping yourself with two artifacts of the same family, you will then gain an additional bonus. You then gain a second by combining four artifacts of the same family, which offers a significant boost in combat. Then it's up to you to find the build he makes for you for each character.
