As you may have noticed, with the 1.1 update came a tracking of your progress in the different regions to visit. Genshin Impact is vast and full of secrets, chests, and things to discover. Thus, you now have a percentage displayed on your mini-map, at the bottom right or when zooming out. But how to get 100% exploration ?

What is the Exploration Progression System?
Before continuing, let us already present the system. When you zoomed out, you may have noticed that the zones now have a percentage displayed. This reflects your progress in exploring the area. So you can now easily check what you have left to discover in the different corners.
This percentage increases according to the unique actions carried out, such as the puzzles or the chests to be found. Unfortunately, you don't have precise tracking, so you'll have to take a good look at every corner to see if you're missing anything. Be aware, however, that getting 100% won't unlock anything more for you, except the satisfaction of having made the return.
How to increase the exploration %?
The simplest answer is to go back everything. Of course, there are still some subtleties, so we've listed all the activities that affect progress. You will find, for certain elements, an additional guide to know where to find all the anemoculi or the sanctuaries for example.
Which increases the percentage:
- Anemoculi
- geoculus
- The statutes of the seven
- Teleport Points
- Shrines (in Mondstadt and Liyue)
- The mysterious fairies in distress that must be brought back
- Chests
- Challenges
- The boxes that are in the water (see the image below)
What does not increase the percentage:
- Resources (plants, minerals, etc.)
- The bosses
- The panoramas
- Chests that respawn
- The works
At this time, we have not been able to verify whether rewarded chats with NPCs increase the percentage or not. Apparently not (the guide will be updated).
Tips for exploring everything
Take your time
In the beginning, don't worry too much about the percentage. Likewise, it's assumed that you're only looking to reach 100% if you're a completer, since discovering everything won't earn you anything special. You will therefore go on a quest to obtain everything, with the aim of having a maximum of treasures and others. But assume that it won't be easy.
To begin with, the elementary view will be your best ally and will highlight the items to find. Treasures, boxes and more will be shiny and easier to find. Of course, this will still require a little digging.
Note that a good part of the elements will be naturally discovered, whether through quests, daily objectives or seasonal events, which will take you to new corners. Also, when you perform an action, like your dailies, remember to look around and go through other paths.
Don't forget some things
It is true that one immediately thinks of anemoculus, shrines or chests. But there are other things that increase the percentage: the boxes for example, which float in the water. The latter participate in the % of completion. Take a tour of the regions but also of the rivers and other water points. In Liyue, there are many, as in the Huaguang Stone Forest or Guyun. Also close to the hostel.
Also, think about the challenges. You will probably naturally do the challenges that require you to kill a certain number of enemies or reach a point in a given time, symbolized by a sword or other red symbol on a stone, but don't forget climbing challenges which are given by a member of the Adventurer's Guild.

Each event is divided into three parts, which will require you to complete the same course three times but in tighter timings. The challenge itself does not increase the percentage, however, as we obtain three chests in total (and above all, a precious one each time), these will contribute to it.
Finally, thanks to the reputation system added with the 1.1 update, note that we now have treasure detectors. These are not very precise but they will allow you to find certain locations of chests, if ever the interactive map is not sufficient.
