In Animal Crossing New Horizons, the biggest test is not the repayment of loans but the improvement of the note of his island. And we must admit that if we adore Marie, her advice is not the most precise. Here is a small guide of things to do to increase the rating of your island.
Summary
Increase population
The basic step in the quest for the perfect score is the installation of new inhabitants. So as soon as Tom Nook offers you to install plots for future villagers, do not hesitate to spend your bells. It even takes priority over paying off your debt.
Of course, when it's done, you shouldn't just wait for people to show interest in your island or campsite. Do not hesitate to recruit on the mystery islands.
Furnish the exterior
The criticism that will come up most often in Animal Crossing New Horizons about your island will be the lack of objects outside. Villagers will sometimes donate furniture to help you. Do not hesitate to install everything. If you think it's too busy and not matched enough, Marie will tell you anyway that it's empty. So you have to go there and abuse it, even if it means replacing the objects later with others more suited to your personal tastes.
The blueprints available for miles in the Nook Stop will be a big help in improving the town. Indeed, obtaining them will be much less random than other plans or objects. And above all, it allows you to craft your furniture yourself. Homemade is an important criterion for reputation. Just like the variety of scenery, so just because you like one object doesn't mean you have to put hundreds of them on the island.
Install fences
They are easily forgotten but the fences also come into account in the note of your island. Since the villagers don't take care of their own house, it's up to you to put up barriers around their house.
Every day, it is possible to exchange miles for two plans of new types of fences at the usual Nook Stop terminal. We therefore recommend that you buy several plans to vary the barriers of your island as much as possible, but also why not try to stick to the style of each house.
Build bridges and ramps
Yes, infrastructure is expensive, especially when you have a floor to pay off. But impossible to do without several bridges and several ramps if you want to improve your score.
Don't forget nature
In the race for five stars, it's easy to raze everything to have as much room as possible to load the island to the maximum. But be careful since the number of plants and trees is also a parameter in the notation. However, this shouldn't be a problem if you plant a minimum of plants (especially by following the Miles Nook + missions) and if you replant/move each thing you uproot/cut.
Grow the trade
Impossible to have the perfect island if it does not have developed shops. If you are aiming for the best score, you will therefore need to have the Workshop of the Fairy Fingers Sisters but also the improved Nook Shop.
