In Animal Crossing New Horizons, you will be able to create your tools in order to harvest as many resources as possible, whether it is wood or minerals. They will also allow you to catch insects and fish, essential to the smooth running of your museum.

And you'll figure out pretty quickly that your tools will have a short lifespan, and they'll break pretty quickly. But by a simple trick, you will be able to use them longer before making new ones!

To do this, you will first have to memorize the number of hits your basic tool can take before it breaks (or the number of species to catch before it disappears):

Rudimentary net : 10 insects
Rudimentary fishing rod : 10 fish
Rudimentary ax : 40 rounds
Rudimentary shovel : 40 rounds

Once these numbers are in mind, you will be able to manage your tools more intelligently so as not to waste your resources unnecessarily. Let's take the example of the rudimentary net, which will break after 10 insects are caught. Before transforming it into a classic net, which will allow you to catch 30 insects, use your rudimentary net to catch 9 insects before transforming it into a classic net. You will therefore obtain 39 insects instead of 30 if you had transformed your rudimentary net directly into a classic net.

Do the same with the other tools: hit up to 39 times with your rudimentary ax before transforming it into a classic axe! It will be 39 additional pieces of wood, which will not cost you a bell!
