If you've been engaging in illegal activity in GTA 5 – and let's face it, you have – it's possible the police have seized your personal vehicle. This can happen whenever you are killed by the police while your vehicle is nearby, or if you leave it too long. Either way, it gets towed and heads straight for the LSPD pound.
Chances are you'll want your personal vehicle back, but you'll need to know where the impound is in GTA 5 in order to get it back. Not to mention what it takes to get your vehicle out.
It is important that you do this quickly, especially if your vehicle is uninsured. The police will destroy the vehicle if it stays too long.

It can be a bit difficult to find the pound in the huge city of Los Santos, but this map marker should definitely help:
If your personal vehicle has been taken, you can also find the impound by searching for your personal vehicle on the map. It is on the corner of Innocence Boulevard and Roy Lowenstein Boulevard in South Los Santos, and is right next to the Davis Police Station.
Now that you have found the impound lot, if you seek to recover your vehicle, you will be charged a $250 fee. If you've been active in GTA 5, then $250 should be next to nothing for you, but if you're just starting out, you can just steal it.
If you just want to steal it, jump the fence in the pound and drive your personal vehicle straight. You will receive a two-star auto search level and the cops will be right after you. If you can make a clean getaway, the vehicle is yours. Otherwise, they will seize it again. Once you get your vehicle out, it will be in exactly the same condition it was impounded.
If you don't get your vehicle out in time, the police will have it run over. Those who have had the vehicle insured are in luck, as they can always recover their personal vehicle by using Mors Mutual Insurance. If it was not insured, your vehicle has unfortunately disappeared.
Always be sure to keep your personal vehicle in a garage when not in use. Illegal parking or abandonment will result in it being impounded, as will LSPD ticking. Now that you know where the pound is, you should be able to retrieve it if that happens.
