Tiny Racers is one of several Adversary Modes in GTA Online, added to the game as part of the Cunning Stunts: Special Vehicle Circuit update in April 2017.
This particular game mode brings back the bird's-eye view of classic Grand Theft Auto, complete with all the GTA 5 racing chaos you know and love. But get too late and your car will burn. This guide will walk you through setting up this type of race.
How to Play Tiny Racers in GTA 5
To get started, pause the game and scroll down to the Online tab, then choose Play at Work. Select Rockstar Created, then Adversary Mode to reveal a long list of game modes to play from. This list is in alphabetical order, so scroll down to the T's to find Tiny Racers. There will be seven in total to choose from.
Modes of little racers from GTA 5
These seven races are detailed here, so choose the one that seems most interesting to you. Each will need two to four players to start, and all will take place on floating tracks above Los Santos:
- Tiny Racers I: Takes place above the city center and uses the Dinka jester.
- Tiny Racers II: Above Vespucci Beach, every player in this race will use the Karin Kuruma.
- Tiny Racers III: This race takes place on Sandy Shores and the racers use BF injection.
- Tiny Racers IV: On Elysian Island, players use the Pfister Comet Retro Custom.
- Tiny Racers V: Players each race an Obey Omnis, over Los Santos International Airport.
- Tiny Racers VI: Set on Mount Chiliad and uses the Declasse Drift Tampa.
- Tiny Racers VII: Uses the BF Bifta and takes place over much of Los Santos.
Just select the race that you think is the most fun and confirm that you want to start this job. You will be placed in a lobby and once you have enough players for the race to begin you will be put on the track.
Now the goal is not to beat other players to the finish line. Instead, you want to be the last man standing by destroying all the other racers.
You can use bonuses spread across the course, similar to kart racing games, to kill your opponents. Alternatively, you can have someone fall so far behind the leader that they automatically explode as a result. Don't let that be you, though.
GTA 5 Tiny Racers Powerups
There are seven bonuses in Tiny Racers:
- Bomb: The bomb power-up can be dropped behind you and once detonated it will destroy all nearby vehicles.
- Rocket: Rockets can be fired forwards or backwards in a straight line and will obliterate anything they hit.
- Turrets: Two turrets will be mounted on the front of the vehicle for five seconds, dealing damage to anything you touch.
- Inversion of commands: The brake/acceleration commands of all other races will be reversed for ten seconds.
- Nagasaki Shotaro: Your vehicle will transform into a Nagasaki Shotaro bicycle for five seconds, leaving behind a trail of light that will destroy anyone who crashes into it, just like in Deadline.
- BF Ramp Buggy: Your vehicle will transform into a BF Ramp Buggy, which means any vehicle you ram from behind will be launched upwards and can be thrown out of the way.
- Ruiner 2000: Your vehicle transforms into Ruiner 2000 and you have full control of its functions, such as parachute and rockets, for ten seconds.
Being the last man standing will earn you a single point, and the tracker in the bottom right will show you how many points are needed to win.
It's definitely one of the most unique game modes in GTA 5, and offers triple cash and RP at the time of writing. Although this mode leads nowhere, it is definitely worth playing as soon as possible. Check out our other GTA 5 guides here on GameSkinny.
